Even though he seems to have passion for the traditionalperformance, he shows his concern for its unpopularity. He tells his father thatmany students don’t find the opera interesting. It is obvious that this drawing aims at arousing our awareness of theinheritance and protection of traditional culture, especially Chinese opera, oneof the treasure of Chinese culture gradually ignored by the younger generation.On the one hand, with the deepening of reform and opening up, as well as thedevelopment of globalization, various and diversified cultures are introduced toChina, tempting and appealing to the young.
